Volunteering at the Salvation Army

Like many not-for-profit groups and organizations, The Salvation Army relies heavily on support from volunteers. Without them we would not be able to offer the programs and services we do. VOLUNTEERS ARE AN INTEGRAL PART OF WHO WE ARE!

The Thrift Store operations rely heavily on volunteers who come a few hours or a few days or every day each week to assist with sorting donations, stocking shelves, cleaning, cashier assistance and much more.

The Family Services relies on approximately 145 kettle volunteers every year in November and December, as well as others to assist with Hamper Registration, packing toys and distributing food.

Volunteers from seven churches in the area provide, prepare and serve Friendship Supper meals every Monday and Wednesday mid-October through mid-May to persons in need.

People volunteer for many reasons, including;

  • Giving back to the community
  • Meeting new people
  • Helping those in need
  • Gaining valuable skills and experience
  • Utilizing spare time
  • Achieving a sense of accomplishment

CONSIDER VOLUNTEERING! There are many opportunities available for you. We would love to meet with you to determine a suitable fit.

Call 622-7826 or pick up a Registration Form. We require 2 non-family references and if approved, a criminal record check.
